I was introduced to Christ by my parents and as a child I accepted HIM as my Lord and Savior. Upon graduation from High School, I enlisted into the Air Force and later became a Commissioned Officer.  I look back now and realize God used my Air Force career as a catalyst for professional development and spiritual growth.  One of my Air Force assignments moved my family and me to the Montgomery, Alabama area where we joined a local church.  It was during this time I went on a mission trip to the Czech Republic and after returning felt God’s call into the ministry.  In obedience to that call,  in 2005 I was licensed and ordained in the Gospel Ministry and enrolled into seminary.  The Air Force eventually moved us again and I simultaneously performed my military duty and served as the Youth Pastor at Trinity Baptist in Vacaville, California.  Yet another assignment led us to Kleine Brogel, Belgium where there was no full time, English-speaking pastor.  Realizing God had given me another opportunity to minister, I became the Unit Chaplain in addition to being the Deputy Commander.  In 2011 I gave up my combat boots for full-time ministry.  Since retiring from the Air Force, I have served as Associate Pastor at Thelma Baptist Church, Wetumpka, AL and now I have the honor and very great privelage of serving as Pastor to the awesome people of First Baptist Church Reeltown. I have been married to my awesome wife Dawn for 23 years and we have one son, Zach, who is 20 years old and attends Auburn University.

A funny little fact about me is that Camels give me the creeps.  Just look at them!  They have this weird “I can’t be trusted look about them!”  I love anything to do with the outdoors and agriculture.  I enjoy hunting, fishing, the lake and playing in the dirt.

The things I treasure the most are God’s grace and the love of my beautiful wife and awesome son. I’m honored to be the Chaplain for the Reeltown Rebels Football Team.  I love the drive of the student athletes and the opportunity to spend time with them and the chance to pour into them.

My favorite Scripture is:

Revelation 3:8 (NLT)  8 “I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.

Take the time in this busy life to know God’s will for you.  How has HE wired you?  What are you good at? What are your Spiritual gifts? What has HE given you a passion to do?  Once you understand these things I believe our lives are a lot more focused .  It’s easier to say “yes” to what’s really important and say “no” to the things that aren’t.

Small Groups Minister

Nicholas Stockdale

Hello all, I am Nic Stockdale. I currently serve as the Small Groups Minister at FBCR. I have been married to my wife Audrey, for 10 years. We have two children, Maddie (8) and Macon (4). I have a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Faulkner University and have been employed at Auburn University in the Plant Breeding Unit for the past 9 years. A funny fact about myself is that I am probably the most competitive person you’ll ever meet. From football and softball to card games and bowling, I enjoy a friendly competition. If you don’t believe me, just check out the Kickball Trophy in the church library! I enjoy the great outdoors. I like hunting, fishing, camping, farming, spontaneous dates with my wife, and playing with my kids. I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids at home playing board games, family movie nights, Ninja Turtles, and yes, Maddie even gets me to play Barbies every now and then. I also enjoy yard work and am pretty crafty at building my wife the things she pins on her Pinterest. I enjoy coaching the kids in sports and being active in their extracurricular activities. I am an avid hunter and serve on the Tallapoosa County NWTF committee.

I believe one of my greatest accomplishments was convincing Audrey to marry me. Our lives together have brought countless memories, experiences, and two little blessings that call me Daddy. I’m grateful that the Lord has allowed us to share our lives together.  I am immensely blessed to be a servant of Christ first and her husband second.

One of my favorite passages is James 3:17-18.  But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. 18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. (NLT)

I have always enjoyed working in children’s ministry, but in 2015, the Lord started tugging at my heart to begin ministering to adults. In the Fall of 2015, Audrey and I began a marriage small group at FBCR. After that, we began a young adult small group, The Whipper Snappers. God really moved in my life and kept calling me to surrender completely to him. I felt the call to full-time ministry in 2016, and answered the Lord’s call to preach. I began seminary at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in Fall 2016. The Lord has worked in amazing ways through the small group ministry at FBCR! There has been an abundance of spiritual growth in individual and families’ lives this past year. The discipleship and commitment to serving our community and beyond within these groups has spread like wild fire in Reeltown. If you are not attending a small group at FBCR, I encourage you to give me a call and I will be glad to help lead you to a group where you can be spiritually fed! #RC3

“Love People, Live Jesus” Every day, my prayer is that I put others’ needs above my own, love people well, and live each day surrendered to my Savior.

I have lived in Reeltown all my life and can definitely say there's no other place I'd rather call home.  I married my husband Bryan in 2002 and we welcomed our first child Layton in 2004 and our second child Preston in 2007.  I graduated from Auburn University in 2004 and I have worked at the Auburn University Large Animal Teaching Hospital as a Medical Records Clerk since May of 2005.   I am a Hallmark movie fanatic and for fun I like to search Pinterest to find a bunch of crafty stuff that I would like to do, knowing all the while I will never have time to do them. My greatest accomplishment is my family! We  are blessed beyond measure and are so glad to be a part of FBCR and the community.

I have always had a love for singing ever since I was a little girl.  My dad played guitar and sang as long as I can remember.  I guess the love for music has always been instilled in me.  FBCR was a familiar place for me because I grew up in this church.  So as time would press on and things unfold, my family and I would venture back to FBCR in 2009 and quickly get plugged in. A few months down the road I was asked to join the Praise Team and God just affirmed in my heart that this is where He wanted me to serve.  Little did I know at the time that God had some pretty big plans for me!  So to make a long story short God opened a door for me and I really wasn't sure if I was ready, but God confirmed in my heart that I was to take that leap of faith and trust His plan.  So here I am almost a year later serving as the Worship Leader.  It has definitely been a lot of work, but the joy of seeing God's people with their hands raised high surrendering it all to the One who saved us, well, there's nothing more beautiful!  I absolutely love serving Jesus with our Praise Team!  They are a talented great group of people with a heart's desire to minister to the church through music. It is such a privilege and honor to be able to serve Him in the music ministry.  I am so thankful that He brought me and my family back here and the ways that He is having us to serve His church.

 Isaiah 43:1-2
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.  When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Keep pushing forward even when times get tough and it feels like everything is falling down around you.  Trust Him, He is holding you up, and He is faithful!  If He has called you to it, He will provide what you need to help you through it.

I am beyond excited to be a new resident of the Reeltown community. I am a graduate of Auburn University where I spent the four years progressing as a student in the college of Human Sciences and as a horse enthusiast. I was a member of the Auburn University Equestrian team and just so happen to set up a farm call with a vet student named Andrew Lovelady. Now 11 years later God has moved our relationship forward in a mighty way. Not only is Andrew my husband, but he is my project manager on the farm, my best friend, my child raising assistant, my co-chef in our home kitchen, my vet, my sounding board, my accountability partner, my hot date, my editor and my spiritual leader. Together we are enjoying raising our three precious daughters, Aubrey, Carly, and Emmy. Andrew is currently a professor at Tuskegee University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, specializing in large animal reproduction. I recently finished my Master’s degree in school counseling, but have focused this year on transitioning my family into our new life in Reeltown.  We have absolutely loved everything this little town has to offer and it has made a big impression on us in the short time we have been here.

Which leads me to being called into children’s ministry…It all started with some early mornings and a group of ladies I met several months ago.  Most of these ladies are members of FBCR and I saw the Lord working through them.  I saw genuineness and hearts of pure gold.  These ladies welcomed, inspired, encouraged and loved me as a new member in the community and a sister in Christ. During this transitional time I had been torn about my purpose in Reeltown, what was I going to do with my time and God given talents? I prayed for doors to open and never did I imagine this would all transpire. God answered those prayers and used these ladies  in a mighty way to motivate me and my family to pursue FBCR as our church home.

I have a long history of teaching both in church and in public schools. I know what it is like to be a child that has questions and is seeking the truth. I didn't have a personal relationship with Christ until I was 19 years old and since that day I have wanted others to see Him with such clarity. He is real, and I want children to experience that first hand. My passion is children and sharing the truth of Christ, I just haven’t had a time in life when I could serve in this capacity due to work and personal commitments. This year God opened this door wide and I saw an opportunity to invest in the children right outside my back door. I love seeing these young children seeking Christ, digging deeper into His word, making special memories at church, praying with open hearts, and developing Christian friendships. My favorite part is getting to show them the love of Christ by being His vessel. This year as the Children’s ministry continues to grow, love, give and go places; I am excited to see God at work. I have served in various roles for Sav-A-Life, a Christian ministry for women experiencing crisis pregnancies. I have served on the board of a humane society and also spent time leading students in adopt-a-mile programs. Outside of that I try to meet the needs of my family. I am a domestic engineer, who finds great satisfaction in warm meals, clean clothes, an organized house, finished homework, a well maintained farm and a relaxing environment for my family to enjoy. It is by no means perfect, but it is so satisfying to care for all God has given me. It is a full time job, but I thank God daily for the opportunity I have to serve in our home. God’s grace amazes me.

My greatest accomplishment or should I say the event of greatest magnitude in my life was seeking Christ on my own as a teenager.  I finally took responsibility and built up the courage to ask the right questions to trusted Christian friends about what was missing in my life. With out me stepping up and getting out of my comfort zone I might have gone my whole life with out hearing the gospel, the plan of salvation. I am so thankful that I wanted to know more and didn't worry about what others thought.  It was the greatest accomplishment of my young adult life…seeking a personal relationship with Christ.

Use the time God has given you and be intentional. My challenge to myself and others is to look very hard at how you are spending your dash. 1982-? That little line referred to as the dash, sums up my existence on Earth. What have I done for God’s kingdom, how have I spent my time, what are my priorities, was I intentional, and lastly did I use my God given talents to glorify Him? Today will never be repeated…I challenge myself and everyone else to make good use of your dash and at the end of life as we know it, I pray He will be pleased and say well done. This is something I reflect on often and I pray it has a positive impact on you.

Hey everyone, we are the Keyes! We are honored to serve as the Student Ministers at First Baptist Church Reeltown. We met at First Baptist Church Reeltown.  It truly holds such a special place in our hearts.  We are parents to Beau who is in the first grade at Reeltown Elementary. We are both football fanatics and music enthusiasts, and though we enjoy many things together, there are still a few things we enjoy individually.  Kevin plays multiple instruments and loves making music, I, Jessica, enjoy painting, hand lettering, and just anything crafty in general. Kevin states his greatest accomplishment is that he was able to  convince me to marry him, even though he showed up for our first date over an hour late because he didn't ask for my address!

Our favorite Bible verses are as follows:

Kevin- 1 Peter 1:3-7 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuinenessof your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Jessica- Ephesians 2:19-22 19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizenswith God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundationof the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy templein the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Our passion for youth ministry began in our own youth groups as teenagers. We love our church, community and serving together is a blessing to us. Kevin is a member of Church & Main, a local praise and worship band. I am on the baptism committee and it is my favorite place to serve.

Our challenge is simple, invite someone to church. You never know how that invitation may impact them at the moment and eternally.

I am married to a wonderful, God-fearing man. Matt and I have four beautiful sons, Cruise (10), Emmett (7), Walker (5) and Ellis (2). I am a Tallassee girl and I attended Auburn University majoring in Social Work. We lived away for 7 years, but I  know that The Lord has brought us home. Home to a place that fills me with an incredible sense of absolutely authentic community. I have never lived in any place like Reeltown. The support and love for Christ, above all else, is echoed throughout the community! It is truly amazing to watch God work. I am a girl, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a student of The Word, a coach’s wife and a mother of 4 beautiful bouncing boys! More often than not I feel like I am a maid, a taxi driver and a sports enthusiasts extraordinaire! I am a lover of the game (football of course), shopping, decorating and all things wedding. I am a woman in need of prayer. I am a sinner in need of redemption. I am a soul in need of saving. I am a child of the One True King! I am “MOMAAAA"  and I am His. Though the football life is tough, it's nice to have a Christian leader that comes home every night and just absolutely loves us. I do not claim being creator of my four little boys, but I do claim that Jesus Christ is the creator of all things, so in that truth I am thankful to have carried four healthy little boys. Our family is so important to me. When I hear my sons praying and sharing Christ with others, my heart beats so fast. They, in all their innocence, are perfectly created in the image of God.  Family is God's gift to remind of us how much He loves us. It is my greatest accomplishment.

2 Peter 1:10-11 — “10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” I first heard Him speaking to me on October 28, 2015, in the stillness of my room. I heard His repeated whispers, "read it, write it, speak it" as I prayed to Him for direction in my life. That His will somehow consume mine, and align them in accordance to Him, that I would know without a shadow of doubt what my purpose in this world was. When I kept hearing Him call me into women's ministry, this is the verse I came across one day, in a day of my begging Him to take it away. But in true faithful fashion, He only makes my calling stronger everyday. He beckons me constantly. When I woke up I would hear Him say to me repeatedly before my feet hit the floor, Luke 4:12 Jesus answered, "It is said: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'" I know this was Him reminding me that He has commanded me to do His works and I hadn't taken the proper steps. The Lord begin to bless me much more than I deserve as I finally relented to His command in my life. I am so honored to be given the opportunity, that I prayed for, to work with the community in ministry. This job opportunity is an answered prayer. I no longer ask Him to take this thought from my heart. I no longer believe that I am unworthy. I do not sit back and watch the devil try and steal my joy. I long to love God more. I long to feel His embrace. I long to lead others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ by being His vessel. I long to have no human accolade, but that in all things the glory be given to whom it is owed, our Heavenly Father. I do not work to be seen, but yet to share His love as that of an innocent child or a faceless servant. I long only for Him to be given praise. I will never, in my human flesh, be enough to save anyone. That is the work of our Lord.

I have a heart for discipleship. In answering God's will, I began a community women's ministry, L.I.F.T. Ministries, Living In Faith Together. It is the desires of my heart that everything we do and say bring glory to The Lord.  I absolutely love to serve others in my Emmaus Community. It's such a huge part of my life and spiritual growth. I feel as though I am in His presence the entire time I'm serving. It is an amazing feeling to be the hands and feet of Christ on a level playing field. No one persons service is greater than another's. Equality. I love how as I serve and watch others serve no one desires a thank you or a pat on the back or to be acknowledged. It truly is sacred ground to me bc it is the place I found Jesus again. I own a Wedding Planning business, Psalm 143:8 Weddings. My hope is that through ministering to brides and young couples, throughout the lengthy process of wedding planning, that they understand that their one and only foundation must begin with Christ. I pray they understand the scripture..." for to you I entrust my life." Psalm 143:8 I also write a blog, Seasonal Reasoning, this was my first step in allowing God to use me. I pray He continues to give me His words, for I am merely but a vessel penning them to paper.

2 Corinthians 5:8-12
Paul instructs in his letter to Corinth in the same way he lives, confidently. Confident that being away from the body is being home with The Lord. He does everything cheerfully for the Lord (vs.9) even when the going gets tough. Do not become weary and lose hope, again be cheerful in all you do (2 Corinthians 4:16). Hold yourself accountable and responsible for your own actions (vs. 10). Your body is a temple for The Holy Spirit. Just as Paul did, please Christ for the prospect that you will one day appear in the judgement seat. Live your life as though there is a wooden gavel in the hand of the High Authority, ready to hammer down and render verdict for the life you have led. Your future should affect your life in the present. Remember that the judgement seat is a requirement, NOT an option. Do you allow your fellow man to hold you accountable? Do you work with those around you to further His kingdom? Do you work every single day with the mission that you WILL win, with God’s guidance, someone over to Christ? What do your actions say about you? Do you claim humility in Christ’s name or do you claim to be humble? Show others Christ through your actions. This is your job and duty to fellow man. The quality of your work will be tested by fire(vs.11). Will your work withstand the heat?
